I saw you last in a steamy kitchen
cooking potatoes with me.
Like a toy between us, one of them
slipped onto the tiles
and scorched the floor.
Potatoes didn’t sprout nor did they grow
but thrown away instead.
Steam now covers our eyes like a blindfold.
